Recap of Peanuds’ EthCC Paris 2023

Last week marked the sixth edition of the Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC) in Paris. EthCC Paris is considered by many to be the most anticipated event in Europe throughout the year, and this year's edition is expected to have drawn more than 10,000 guests from around the world. The main conference itself was attended by 5,000 participants, but what was even more impressive were the 250+ side events hosted by various companies in the industry.

Attending the Side Events and Networking

The Peanuds' team, represented by co-founders Ulrik Lykke and Florian Reike, had an incredible opportunity to attend over 20 side events. Each of these events offered us a unique experience and provided the perfect setting to meet both new and old friends, with whom we shared different insights and ideas.

Moreover, we had the privilege of engaging with some prominent industry leaders who offer exchange and custodial services, discussing Peanuds' comprehensive offering in the crypto payments space. This particular area holds a special place in our hearts, as it embodies the core idea behind Peanuds - addressing the on-ramping and off-ramping challenges faced by the digital asset industry.

Fostering Investor Relationships

In addition to hosting private meetings to explore various topics such as crypto, French cuisine, and emerging trends, we also actively participated in several VC events. These events served as valuable platforms to foster relationships that could prove advantageous as we gradually prepare for our anticipated fundraise later in the year.

Overall, this whirlwind of events, discussions, and connections at EthCC Paris has left us inspired and eager to make a positive impact in the crypto industry with Peanuds' innovative solutions.

Meeting with Unlimit - One of Peanuds’ Main Partners

To top off the eventful week, we had the pleasure of meeting with the team from Unlimit, one of Peanuds' main partners, for a relaxing sundowner on Saturday afternoon. We engaged in fruitful discussions about the exciting future of Peanuds, our roadmap, and the expected features we plan to introduce. It was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our partnership and align our visions for the way ahead.

Takeaways from Key Panels

With more than 350 speakers, EthCC Paris had a lot of insights to offer. Here are some of the highlights from Ethereum's founder, Vitalik Buterin's presentation, and a16z general partner of Web3 media, Chris Lyons.

  • Vitalik Buterin: A History of Account Abstraction

Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, discussed the history of account abstraction and a recent Ethereum Improvement Proposal. The proposal aims to enable users to create non-custodial wallets through programmable smart contracts, potentially enhancing global web3 adoption by making crypto wallets as easy to use as email accounts.

  • Chris Lyons: Future of Web3 Media and Entertainment

Chris Lyons, the general partner of web3 media at a16z, emphasized the immense potential of Web3 media and entertainment. He discussed how this niche presents a significant opportunity for the industry to expand and reach 100 million users.
